Our Philosophy
A fanciful idea.
-
Coffee
We source our speciality coffee from the not-for-profit roastery, Skylark. Their coffee is exceptional; their ethos aligns with ours.
Our house coffee - Brazil Futures - is smooth, balanced and ethically sourced. Futures isn’t just a name; it’s a commitment to nurturing the next generation of coffee bean farmers and a sustainable tomorrow.
Sidenote: we haven’t raised our coffee prices since opening.
-
Purpose-led
We donate 30p from every coffee to the local food bank (Tooting Community Kitchen). Sending the donation off the top ensures we can support the food bank, no matter how long we end up staying on the high street.
In our first year, we sent over £2,000 to the food bank.
The wines, homewares and pantry goods you see in store are curated with independent makers in mind: often female-founded businesses; most likely the underdogs.
-
Wine bar
Our wine bar is a space to celebrate small producers making wine with intention. We feature bottles from lesser-known regions like Hungary and Armenia, and shine a spotlight on rising winemakers from diverse backgrounds.
We host occasional wine tasting workshops; these are intimate, conversational events, often with a producer themselves. Workshops are announced in-store and on Instagram.
There are non-wine options too, including our version of the best negroni.

Opening hours
We started with 7-11am. Moved to 8-12pm. Increased to 8-2pm. Increased to 8-3pm. That progression took 8 months because we were closely monitoring the numbers (sales, customers, costs). Same with the wine bar; started 5.30-10.30pm. Moved to 5.30-10pm. Might shift the wine bar to seasonal hours.
It’s fluid, because life moves and we want to stay open for the neighbourhood as long as we can. Please move with us.
Current opening hours are below.

Laptops
Our space is designed as a soft escape from the chaos of London life. As such, laptops and work calls are discouraged through the day, and evenings are laptop-free.
We do have wifi should you need it, in a pinch (please limit to an hour).
We hope you’ll enjoy unplugging while you’re with us.
-
Dogs
Well-mannered furry friends are welcome; we kindly ask that visiting dogs be considerate towards other guests. Our wine bar is dog-friendly for small companions. Thank you for helping us keep the space warm and inviting for everyone.

Payments
To create a seamless and secure experience, we are a cashless business. Thank you for your understanding.
